Creating Spaces evolved after a 15 year career in Textiles and Fashion when Debbie yearned for a change and delved into the world of Interior Design. A fortuitous situation allowed the possibility to train as a Kelly Hoppen student in Interior Design at Chelsea Harbour in London along with a Garden Design workshop which confirmed her thoughts when designing the Creating Spaces Workshops.

The first workshop, simply Creating Spaces is designed to provide a foundation to Interior Decorating with emphasis on colour, texture, room arrangement, lighting, symmetry, space and function, surfaces and finishes, display and surrounds. It's suitable for all ages and genders, fantastic for school leavers unsure of a creative career and a fun, interactive medium to learn how to put it all together. Colour is a workshop designed to simplify the colour co-ordination process whether it be integrating the home, office, the garden or your personal colour palette. More workshops will follow in the not too distant future !

'Whether consciously or not, we have an instinctive ability to sense proportion, balance and natural harmony and so too, the decoration of any space is an opportunity to reflect ones personality and to be glamorous and creative. Colour is everywhere and without light there is no colour as it's the source of all life and we are constantly under its influence. There are no 'right' or 'wrong' colours and as we have an intuitive response to colour which is difficult to verbalise, try experimenting by introducing a little drama into your space, your homes, your offices and gardens by learning a little about the colour wheel.'

The quality of space indoors and outdoors and how we arrange it has a fundamental impact on our well-being and if I've inspired stimulation and curiosity then my heart is happy and remember Albert Einstein's words and have a go at being creative.
